Free or insanely cheap

Don’t forget to stop by Dunkin Donuts tomorrow for your 50-cent cup of iced coffee. A great morning jolt without jolting your wallet. This is a 16-ounce size, too, so a great deal. And, a portion of the proceeds is going to a great cause — Homes for our Troops, which helps build or retrofit homes for severely injured war veterans. To find a DD location near you, click here. For your afternoon snack, swing by a Ben & Jerry’s and get yourself a scoop of ice cream for free. B & J’s Free Cone Day is a perennial favorite so I’d be expecting some long lines. You may want to bring a book, or better yet, sip on that 50-cent iced coffee while you wait. Free cones — your choice of flavor — will be handed out from noon to 8 p.m. For a Ben & Jerry’s near you, click here.

Then, be sure to mark your calendar for next week when Baskin Robbins will be selling their scoops of ice cream for 31 cents.

On Wednesday, April 29th, from 5 to 10 p.m., participating stores will sell small scoops for 31 cents in honor of the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program. The company is donating $100,000 to the program. To find a Baskin Robbins near you, click here.

Hope no one is trying to diet.
